The bass is being offered for sale through us on behalf of Gerry McAvoy who was the bass player with the legendary Rory Gallagher.
We have pieced together some shots and video links of Gerry playing
the bass during his time with Rory and an up to date photo of it as it
looks now.

We were on tour in the US, when we played a date in Milwaukee.
 Jon Paris was in the support band. He had just switched from Bass to six string guitar.
 So he sold the guitar to me." Jon Paris "wanted it to have a good home.”

I started using the guitar on that US tour, and continued using it throughout 75/76/77/78.
 It was featured on the following albums: Against the grain (complete album) Calling card (complete album) Photofinish (Fuel to the fire, Last of the Independents, Cruise on out, Shinkicker)
 Top Priority (Hellcat, Wayward child, Public enemy No 1, Philby) 
I've also used it recently on tour, in Europe and the US."
