This is one of the top of the line Gretsch models. It is very similar to the white Falcon in many ways. The overall condition is good but there has been some refinishing touch in around the back of the neck. We have inspected it and there is evidence of a repair. The work has been done very well and the paint blow in is very good.
This leads me to believe that it has not had a full break off but maybe some kind of pressure split repair. The guitar has retained the original serial number.
The nut width is 42.5 mm and it weighs 9 Lb or 4 Kg. The guitar comes with a non original Gibson style moulded case. It sounds amazing and has a slick action. This is the description from Gretsch in 1965:

'It's the Viking - the newest and most advanced guitar by Gretsch. Virtually the guitar with everything, this 17" double cutaway hollow body offers features only available before in a custom instrument. Exclusive Gretsch "T" Zone Tempered Treble for perfect high note intonation. Double Super'Tron pickups , Super'Tron I, special pickup head by the bridge, for that sharp cutting drive so much in demand for rock and roll -, Super'Tron II, special pickup head at the end of the fingerboard for that cool sweet tone so essential in fine Jazz sound. Exclusive Gretsch Vibrato that's built in. Body is compact 2" thickness. Gretsch adjustable rod-ActionFlo neck for extra playing ease. Single muffler built in. Padded back for cushioned comfort. Stand by switch. Neo classic fretboard.'
