Pancake Mahogany body and carved mahogany top. 3 Piece mahogany neck with volute. !! Note !! This guitar has had a headstock repaired, this is reflected in the price. It is a professional repair, you can see a scarf going where the new headstock has been fitted. Serial numbers have also been re-applied and “Made In USA” is no longer present. It is a good and solid repair and it does not affect the guitar playability and function in any way other than originality. 3 piece Mahogany neck with a bound 12” radius Indian rosewood fingerboard and block inlays. The headstock features a Pearl split diamond inlay and Gibson logo like a custom. The nut width is 42.5mm. The original Gibson tuners have been replaced with a set of milk bottle Grovers at some point in time. Long-travel adjustable bridge and stop tailpiece. One of the strap buttons has also been replaced. 2 black covers Gibson embossed Low Impedance pickups. The controls are Bass, Treble and Volume. Phase control for when both pickups are on. Impedance selector for live and studio use. Decade control, an 11 position rotary switch that alters the treble harmonics and switches tunes for Biting and silky tones. ( a bit like a varitone) and a 3 position tone selector switch. These guitars are rare and we do not see many. Although this guitar has had some repair and tweak over the years it is a great instrument and nice player. This guitar weighs 4.5Kg or 9.92Lb. Comes with a hardshell case.
