1977 GIBSON LES PAUL - SILVER 25th ANNIVERSARY
 
We are delighted to be able to offer for sale this exceedingly rare 1977 Silver Anniversary Gibson Les Paul Custom.
Only 50 of these were produced in this original Silver, they were commissioned by Guitar Centre Hollywood to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Les Paul Custom model. Usual Mahogany body, maple top. Slim profile 3 pieces maple neck with volute. 12” radius Ebony fingerboard with MOP inlays. The fingerboard has a bit of light chipping in places. This is only aesthetic and does not affect playability or performance. The nut width is 42.5mm. 
Still has the original frets in good condition. The binding nibs are still present and the side dots are the larger type found on some Gibson’s from this period. 
Chrome hardware, Nashville tune O Matic bridge, '25th Anniversary' engraved stop bar, Gibson Schaller tuners and the original diamond strap buttons. 
This guitar is missing its pick up covers, the pickups are the original T-Tops. 
All wiring looks factory and untouched, the metal shield pots cover is missing. 
The pots do date 20th something week of 1977, the exact week is hard to determine as it is covered on all pots. 
Note! The lower truss rod cover screw is also missing as there is no wood underneath due to a longer cutout to accommodate the removal of the metal plate at the end of the rod. This was apparently done as the truss rod had to get more length for the nut to work properly. It does not affect the integrity and structure of the guitar, it works as it should. 
The neck is straight and has no problems. 
Black plastics and black reflector knobs. The Bridge pickup surround has been replaced. 
In excellent overall condition, The lacquer has aged nicely and it is not gone green like some of these we have seen. 
There is a couple of small pin indentations on the side/top edge. These are the size of a marker pen point and very minimal. (See images).

Comes with the original Chainsaw Protector case that’s missing its badge and a latch. 
 
This guitar is an Incredible player, fantastic looking and a killer sounding Les Paul. 
It is one of those Les Paul’s that is hard to put down, you will know when you play it!
